COURSE WORK

Gen Z Voter Challenge

This video was made a month before November 3, 2020: election day. I was told to make a piece of media which could be shared online to tell Gen Z, the zoomers, to go out and vote; more importantly, why they should go out and vote. The assignment was important to me because - as a new Gen Z voter - I believe that voting is an essential right that people should take advantage of, electoral college notwithstanding. Basically, I wanted to convey that people with the ability to vote should do so, due to many people in the United States being unjustly disenfranchised from using this basic right. There is a lot more to voting than electing the president, and I wanted to spread awareness of that fact.

Photo Assignment

I was tasked with taking a photo with rule of thirds, eye level portrait, and background in mind. I had never really taken a photo with these ideals in mind, so it was a challenge to compose the shot. This photo is far from perfect, but I think that it is a good starting point to begin to become a more cognoscente photographer. Disclaimer: I am still trying to get the image fully rendered, so it is cut off at a strange angle.
